Olivia has been asking to camp out in the backyard for weeks! We have had a lot of weekend rain this summer but last weekend was dry. The build up to the camp out was very enthusiastic. Olivia and Nathan spent 1.5 hours in the tent that night talking/trying to go to sleep. She came inside around 10:30pm and decided she wanted to sleep in her own bed... it was too hot in there. Ha--maybe we can try again this fall?
Fun with Boxes...
Every Thursday morning these two wake up early excited to watch the garbage and recycling trucks in our neighborhood. James is really the passionate truck fan and Olivia comes along for the ride.
James' language is coming along. He still gets excited to answer yes to a question now that he has figured out the head nod. This past week he also said "Na" for Jena his teacher at school AND he said "uck" for a truck he saw. Now we need to work on getting him to repeat these words. He likes to say the word once and then when you ask him "James, can you say truck"? He answers with a nod of his head--cheeky boy!
James has been going to sleep at night a little easier than before. We have figured out that if Olivia goes in to rub his back after I put him in his crib, he stops crying and eventually goes to sleep much quicker than when I rub his back. It is so sweet to eavesdrop and listen to what she says to him "Go to sleep little Jamie... there are no monsters in here.... here, have some water." Such love between these two which is a welcome change from the challenges of learning to share with a little brother.
So sweet Molly! I love that Olivia helps her little brother to sleep. Makes me want to give both of them a squeeze!
