James 3 year well visit

James turned three years old last month. We have a new pediatrician (tears.....we LOVED our old pediatrician). He had to get some bloodworm done 2 days in a row. He is big enough that they take it out of a vein in his arm. James actually watched the needle go in and the blood go into the tube.... both days... without flinching! My mom says he is going to be a nurse or doctor when he grows up:)

At 3 years old James:

--weighs 30.2 lb (25th%)
--is 37 inches tall (50th%)

Goes to sleep at 8pm (with help) and wakes up around 7am. He dropped his nap at 23 months of age.

--can ride his balance bike around the neighborhood and enjoys riding his tricycle to the bus stop every morning with Olivia.

--his best friends are: Olivia and Sammy

--his favorite color is yellow which he loves to tell people.

--he loves construction vehicles and is excited to go to Diggerland for his birthday present this summer!

Says...
--a lot! He has so many questions about Why and What. Our car rides are rarely quiet unless there is a story on NPR that I really want to hear.

--When I ask James a question to which the answer is "nothing", he always answers "anything". I.e. James, what do you want to do? Anything.

--Potty-trained during the day.

--still won't spit out his toothpaste so he is still using non-fluoride toothpaste.
(Ridley, ??. James, ???)

I visited with James last week at his school. He made me a coffee hand scrub which he presented to me shortly after this. Then he got to show me some of his "work" (that is what Montessori schools call the kids' activities). Below he is putting together a vase full of flowers.

We had a week of warm weather and we took advantage of it to have picnics outside as much as possible. Olivia brought the entire fruit bowl outside so they had a variety of options.
