Aunt Barbara's adorable cabin we stayed in the first week.
It was a surprise for Nana's birthday... but she figured it out months in advance.
James and Olivia LOVED hanging out with their cousins again this summer.
The floating dock that Gramps built many, many years ago.
Safety is #1 but we all laughed every time James put on his life jacket.
Onto the beach house... what child doesn't enjoy taking out ALL of the pots and pans from the cupboard?
Early morning reading with Mimi.
Shucking corn on the porch.
The Eltons and Nanny.
James and Nanny.
Fireworks on the beach with both Elton clans. Olivia melted down about 30 seconds after this. Apparently fireworks will never be something that interests her (note the headphones as an attempt to buffer the booms).
James is teaching Zoe how to use his new tool box.
Sweet Baby Gwen in one of her 17 bathing suits.
Burns should be a children's librarian in her next career.
The men.
James enjoyed reading on the stairs throughout the trip. I think it was his way to do something naughty (get on the stairs) and still be praised because he was looking at books.
Olivia and Rosie... she loved movie nights with the big kids!
Forts on the porch of course.
A reprise of Spider pig circa 2007.
The only time all five kiddos sat quietly and played. I had to document!
The dunes are finally making a comeback after Hurricane Sandy.
The box of stuff that miraculously arrived from Amazon as Nathan and I were packing/cleaning the house. This box provided 30 minute of entertainment for these two before we hit the road to head back to NC.We cannot wait to do it again next summer.
