Adventures in Amish Country

My mom has ALWAYS wanted to sleep in a caboose. I think it might have begun when she started reading "The Box Car Children" many years ago. Luckily, she found a place in Lancaster where we could spend the weekend overnight in a caboose.

Playing in the Turkey Hill Ice Cream Factory in Columbia, PA.

Olivia is making her own ice cream commercial for Turkey Hill.
You could enjoy as much ice cream as you wanted in the factory. However, we did not share this tidbit with the kiddos and they were content with the two scoops they received.

Feeding a 15 day old baby goat from a bottle. She just kept wagging her little tail like a puppy.
 Selfie!
Olivia is so proud that she has learned how to wink.

Swinging with Nana at the Caboose Motel.

The three of them could not get enough of the bunk beds. Nana and Olivia both got a top bunk and James was told that there is a rule that you have to be 5 years old to sleep on the top.
We went to one of the oldest marionette shows in the country. Located in Lancaster City.
My mom's close friend Connie (from grade school) joined us for the day.
 Feeding the ducks in Lititz.

James enjoyed the tour of the first pretzel factory.
And we randomly ran into one of my best friends from high school. Jackie and her kiddos were in the area that weekend too!

James was obsessed with the brew works at Lancaster Brewing Company. He could not get enough of this place.

A great weekend!
