Olivia's 4 year stats

Olivia had her 4-year check a few weeks back (which she told everyone we saw in between the parking lot and the actual examination room!). She got the MMR vaccine and the chicken pox vaccine and is done with these vaccines for now!

She weigh 32.6 pounds (up from 28 pounds a year ago) and is 38 inches tall (up from 35 inches a year ago) which puts her at the 25% percentile for both height and weight. She goes to bed anywhere from 7:30pm (on non-nap days) to 9:45pm (on days she naps) and wakes up around 7am. She is a really good sleeper once she is out for the night but she does wake up every now and then and asks for a hug and a kiss or to be tucked in again... at 3:30am.

At 4 years old she is a ball of energy! She has loads of questions--this morning she asked if cars had skin. We explained that they did have a kind of covering on their frame like skin but it was made of steel. Ha! She notices differences in people and yesterday she told a women in the grocery store she had a very nice voice. Unfortunately she commented on the size of a very large woman in target last week. But she is learning...

Her latest interest is in legos. This has been going on for quite some time so we definitely need to try to add to her collection. Perhaps a pirate ship or something along those lines? She really enjoys building with Nathan. Not a day goes by that she doesn't ask to go bounce in her bounce house. However, this is usually a weekend activity.

She still loves to read and we have moved on to chapter books with fewer pictures (Milly-Molly-Mandy and some Mudge books are our first forays into this type of literature).

She wakes up in the morning and will sometimes tell me her dreams. The good ones always seem to involve the beach house and the beach. High expectations for our summer vacation this year!

Olivia loves school and her classmates. Her teachers are currently Ms. Digna and Ms. Terri but she will be moving up to a bigger classroom soon. Ms. Digna will be moving up to that classroom as well so I don't think the transition will be that hard. Her closest friends in class are Lila, Wyatt, Ryan, Hart, Brian, Sara, Henry and Londyn.

Olivia did dance this year and had her final performance a few weeks ago. She did wonderfully! She loved being on stage in her costume and said she could not see all the people in the audience. I was not sure if she would want to continue with it next year but when she watched the big girls dance in the 2nd half of the show, she was in awe and said that she wanted to learn to dance like them. Thankfully she is off for the summer so we have a few months to decide what to do next year. Here is a link to the actual dance dress rehearsal.
