18 month update!

Today we had Olivia's 18-month update with her pediatrician (aka Phil Dunphy).

Her visit went very well--she didn't even cry when she got her Hepatitis A shot... that was a first! She currently uses about 20 different words, her current favorites being "no!" and "dog" which means we hear both of these words A LOT during the day. She loves to say "bye Daddy" and wave when Nathan heads out the door each morning. If I ask her to do something like "go get a book" or "bring me that shirt" she can follow directions. Her favorite activity inside the house is reading books, pushing her shopping cart around and filling it up with Dunkin's toys. Outside the house she loves to run around in the bike yard "ride" her trike, and go to the park with her friends.

She weighed in at 20lbs, 14 oz (yeah, we are over the 20 pound mark) which puts her at the 7th percentile for weight and she stands tall at 30.5 inches which puts her in the 45% for height. Tall and lean I guess!

She is still a very picky eater but she loves to eat toast with butter, mild cheddar cheese, mum-mums, snap pea crisps, cheerios, veggie booty, bananas, yogurt and of course her veggie and fruit squeezy packets. I don't know what we would do without these packets because that is where she gets most of her fruit. We introduce foods to her on a daily basis but for the most part she does not have any interest in them.

Here she is lounging in Dunkin's bed before we left for the pediatrician's office.

The doctor said she has a faint heart murmur but it is nothing to be worried about as the American Heart Association recently announced that all of us have heart murmurs but some are just louder than others (which is why a stethoscope can detect them).
